Spring Break and Daniel's Birthday!!

I can't believe Daniel will be seven in nine days. He has grown up so much. This year since Daniel's birthday falls one day before Easter and during Spring Break, so we decided not to have a party for him. I know that a lot of people are going to have plans. Instead let him invite a bunch of friends over for a playdate about a week after his birthday. So less for us to have to paln and it does not cost us really anything. That way we can do some fun things with him. This year we are taking him to Medieval Times for his birthday and he is super excited about that. He loves going there. We are also going on a Easter egg hunt. The day before his birthday we are going to go to the circus. However, his biggest suprise is going to be pop-pop and grandma coming up to see him. He is going to be so happy.

Blue and Gold!!

A few weeks ago Daniel had his cub scout Blue and Gold Event. He was so excited to go. Here is a couple pictures of him with some of his den buddies.



We were suppose to make a cake, but since I only knew about it a week in advance just decided to do a cupcake cake of the Arrow of Light. It was not the best cake, but Daniel was proud of it. We will do better next year.

They had a bunch of different categories, but we were entered in under Scouting Theme. Here is a picture of some of our competion.

 



We did not win, but that is fine. There were some cool cakes there in other categories. Here are some of the other cakes.

We had fun and a great dinner. Here is a picture of Daniel with daddy getting his advancement patch to be a Tiger Cub. I love my little man and I am so proud of him.

Long Time

It has been a long time since I kept up with this blog. I had been posting on shutterly, but I know that not many were looking at it since a password is needed and a lot of people forget the password, ect. I have decided to just go back to posting here, so that the family can see how things are going with us.

Registering Daniel for Kindergarten!

The time finally came where we had to register Daniel for Kindergarten. Where did my little boy go. He is growing up so fast (I measured him last week and he has grown about 4 inches since he was 4). I was getting all teary eyed just doing it, what am I going to do when he really goes. He got to take a tour of the Kindergaten rooms. He was a little bashful, but that is understandable. His first day is August 29th, that will be a day that mommy will cry as he gets on the bus. It is a good thing they have a boo hoo breakfast at the school that day for all the parents.

Kaitlyn is growing up too fast!!

Kaitlyn turned 5 months last week. I have to say she is growing up way to fast for me. Everyday she is doing something new. She is such a super sweet girl and a such a mommy's girl. She rolls over all the time and right now she actually prefers to be on her belly. She can spin herself in circles like nothing and has the scooting backwards thing down. She has gotten up on her knees a few times, but then falls back down. She has picked up her front end and pulled herself forward severeal times. This girl really wants to move around. She loves her fruit and loves to take a sip from your water cup. She is also working on getting better with her sleep at night. Lately she has been sleeping a couple of nights with one 4-5 hour stretch and the rest 1.5-2 hour stretches. She still has at least 4 nights a week of waking up every 2 hours though. She is getting so big so fast. Someone has to tell her she does not need to grow up so fast.

Joy of Love {Day 1 - What they Do}

For day one of the Joy of Love workshop we are suppose to capture a loved one doing what they do. This was a difficult one for me to choose, but I choose one of Kaitlyn doing what she likes to do.

She loves to look at magazines and then try to rip or scrunch all the pages up. After that she then likes to put it in her mouth. Well that is if she can, because I am usually one step ahead of her on that and will not let her. Right now she tries to put everything into her mouth.

Figuring Out How to Use My Camera!!

I have been trying to figure out how to use my camera for some time now, but due to not putting in a lot of effort, I have not been that successful. I hope to change that by reading the book Understanding Exposure that was recommended to me quite ahwile ago. It is a great book to help me understand. In addition, I have taken one online class from Willette Photography, but that was when I was pregnant with Kaitlyn, so it was hard for me to keep up with it.
I am now doing her Finding the Joy class and having fun. Still trying to figure out the camera though. One step at a time.

Daniel's Behavior Lately!!

Today has been a pretty good day for Daniel behavior wise as he has only been in timeout once. Lately his behavior has been pretty rotten. He has been throwing more tantrums when he does not get his way and thinks that he can order us around. His favorite words right now are no and I want to do it now. It is just not like him. I do not know if it is due to the fact I cannot move around as much, anticipation of his sister's arrival or what is going on. Today we are going back to a solid routine, as we have been eating later in the evening and we just have not been following our routine. Daniel thrives on having a routine. I just hope that his behavior gets better as it is starting to take its toll on everyone.
